Hello everybody,
I have some questions and if someone can help that would be great.
I am an international student and I am already Working 20/week. I need to know if I am still allowed to work as a freelancer while keeping my existing job or not (not as an uber or skip driver)

Also l want to know if i can start up my own company while I am an international student or is not allowed.

Is there any personnel that helps in advising on such matters like an accountant or imigration lawyer or a student advisor?

Most of the people in the forum are not professionals well versed in Canadian law and it would be better to search for a tax accountant in your local area in Canada to help you out.

This is just from what I have researched as I am currently freelancing as well.

If you are a freelancer you can show that income as income you are earning in your home country where there is no restriction on the number of hours you can work. This is not possible if the firm is Canadian as they will have to give you a tax form for the work you are doing. Other than that if you get your freelance income transferred to a bank in your home country then you can freelance with any other company or 3rd party freelancing site without any issue. This does go against the spirit of the 20 hours per week which is to ensure that you are studying not working.

Being an international student does not affect your ability to start a company however as a non-citizen of Canada you will need a to be a PR or Citizen to open a business yourself , you will need a Partner who is a PR or a Citizen if you want to start a partnership or you will need 25% of directors to be a PR or a citizen if you have more than 4 directors.
