Traveling too early before the course start

Usually recommended on here to at most arrive no more than 4-6 weeks or even less before a course starts and even then you need to be convincing to CBSA that can support self financially without working. So February might be considered too soon although there are no written rules.
If you are from india, there are rules. I don't know about written ones. But those applied from india got mail from delhi embassy that you shouldn't travel more than 3 weeks before. So safe option is to travel exactly before this time.
Wrong information as has been proved here repeatedly in the past. The email is an advisory from some agent and not embassy. Agent is not embassy.

There is no such thing as an unwritten rule. If you have proof of funds that you can live on your own funds before your course starts then they will approve. If you have ample funds you should be fine, they will only be worried that you should not start working before college as that's not the purpose of the study visa. No embassy is going to say come only 3 weeks before. The more money you spend in Canada the better for them.
