Surely, your chances will be higher for both admission and visa if you retake and score at least 7 overall.
Go on Youtube and search for E2 Jay. Watch his videos and study with him and you will surely score 7 or higher

Nope! Most of the universities still ask for 6.5 IELTS. However, it depends on the program. Check the requirements for your program and if they require 6.5, then go ahead and apply with your score

The university where i applied ask only for 6.5 and no band less than 6.

It is up to you. People still get approved visa with the same IELTS score. However, a higher score will improve your case. No one can really predict the action of the Visa Officer.
