I should give an update to this so as not to discourage others. A couple weeks after hearing by phone from the MP's office that my application would take another year I went into the office directly to speak with them and discovered that

A) they had miscommunicated - it would not take another year necessarily, rather it would be in processing for longer than the standard year (I already knew that)

B) they hadn't spoken to anyone in the VO, just some office in Ottawa

C) the info they had about my file was suspiciously similar to that which was in the Gckey portal

In short, I had no reason to believe that my MP had any more idea about the true state of my application than I did.

Went home, 2 hours later got PPR.

Total time waiting from application receipt to PPR was 375 days.

I'm very happy for you guys, congratulations! :D
Thanks for keeping us updated!

Hello, thank you for sharing this info :-)
Is it good news for those who already have the file in Mexico?
I wonder if they will speed up the processes that are already there

Also, as you mentioned they are not receiving any documents, do you know if they will receive CSQs?

Hello there,
My case was trasferred on November 8th to Mexico VO, so I will start participating here with you guys.
Both eligibility and background check started two months before I got AOR2; now going on for almost 3 months.
Best luck for us all!

Hello Lobato,
Welcome to the club ! Another Brazilian that had the app transferred to Mexico. I am not sure if we should celebrate or not, Mexico VO is very slow as São Paulo

Hi all, just wondering how do you receive mail from IRCC? We all know the regular Mexican post service is basically not functional, so then how will we receive the COPR letter?

How are people avoiding having the COPR letter being lost in the mail?

Many thanks in advance.

Hello. It's been very quiet here. Any news? Has anyone heard from Mexico VO?
Hi. Here is our timeline and recent update.
We r March 28, 2018 applicants. Canadian sponsoring Costa Rican conjugal partner.
File transferred to Mexico VO June 27th.

“We r processing ur file” in Ecas July 27th.

CSQ August 4th (for Quebec).

AOR2 October 3rd.

Background check went from in progress to “we r processing ur background check” December 6th.

Invitation to pre-arrival services December 7th.

And now we r trying to patiently wait for DM and or Passport request. Whatever comes first.
