@legalfalcon Can you help me with this issue: I had a visitors visa to Canada and have travelled once to Canada. But in my POST ITA application I answered 'NO' to the question "Has xxxxx xxxxx applied to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada before?" thinking that it was only for Immigration and not visitors. Would this be an issue? I have attached my Visa stamp in the Passport as well. Can you suggest how I can rectify this. Thank you.

You need to reply yes to that question as you already have your visitor visa. Also, your UCI number will remain same for pr process as well so you need to mention this things in application.

I have submitted my application and have passed my medicals as well. I just realized the issue while going through an another post. Is there any way I can rectify this error now? Thank you.

Hey folks, and especially @legalfalcon :) I have a PR application through PNP currently in process, it has been almost two years. CIC provide copy-and-paste responses to my web forms and now they are ignoring my MP. Basically, my application is far overdue and they are doing nothing.
My question is, can I make them move somehow? What are the options other than writ of Mandamus? What can we as applicants do if CIC takes our money and does not deliver?
I feel like I am not treated fairly. Do I really have no rights here? Is there really no way to get justice?

If my medical is passed then doesn’t it mean I have cleared R10 and subsequently I’m stuck in IP1 for over 6 months shouldn’t that cause for an alam?
ut my medical

Usually applicants will see that their Medicals are are passed right around the time when R10 is passed or a little before or after it.

Also, if you have crossed 45 days port AoR, then you have most definitely passed R10, but the conclusive proof is GCMS.

It will not be a major issue, but since you realized it so you should immediately rectify it.

Send a CSE and inform IRCC of this.

CSE can be sent at - https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

IRCC may ask you to file a new form, but for now just inform then and provide the reason for answering no. Many applicants either forget or understand the questions like you did.

Right off the bat, most, but not all applications are processed within 6 months, and the 6 months time frame starts from the day you pass R10 and not AoR.

Second, there is nothing you can do to expedite the processing of your application. Have your requested GCMS notes to find out at what stage your application is at? if not, then you should consider this.

Finally, many applicants get stuck in security screening, and there is absolutely nothing that can be done. In the past some applicants, have filed a Mandamus against IRCC, but they were waiting for over 1 year.

I am not sure what your timeline is.

Thank You very much for your suggestion. I will inform IRCC ASAP.

Hello Legalfalcon,
Could you please clarify to me if additional documents may be requested by IRCC? What does "Eligibility passed" mean?
My stats are as follows:

- ITA 24/01/2018
- AOR 16/03
- IP2 21/05/2018
- Eligibility passed.
- Criminality passed May 17, 2018.
- Security checks are in progress since May 22, 2018.

Thanks,
Rgds,

Hi Legalfalcon,

Hope you are doing good. I have a quick question regarding the photos for PR Card. I got MY COPR on October 18, 2018, and yesterday I received a below letter from the IRCC asking to resubmit the photos.

I remember, the first time I got my photos done, I took the specification sheet and my photographer did the same size and with the same specification as it was mentioned in the sheet. I also checked the measurement with the ruler. I am not sure why it was rejected. Is it because during my landing interview the lady officer only took one pic from me?

Also, in case if this time also it does not meet specification, what likely they will do? Will they reject my application? Or they will come back asking for photos again?

Thank you,

This letter is to inform you that your photo submission has been received by our office. The photos submitted to this office do not meet the required specifications. Your Permanent Resident (PR) Card cannot be issued without a compliant/acceptable photo.

@legalfalcon
I have got my bank statements and balance certificate today from the bank. It would still take my approx 10-12 days to submit my application. So, does having statements 2 weeks old be an issue or shall i get them re-issued 2-3 days before submitting application?

If your eligibility is passed, the security should have started and usually after eligibility is passed, nothing more is required, except schedule A in some rare cases.
