Hi all,

I had applied for a graduate certificate program at Seneca 2 months back for a January intake and I got an offer letter yesterday. Yes yesterday! I believe its too late for me to apply for a visa but I'd like to know if it still may be possible.

I'm from Tanzania and it takes an average of 6 weeks to process student visas so I was thinking to take a chance and apply for the student visa.

The problem is, last week, I had applied for my tourist visa and I am still awaiting the response to that. Will it be a problem to apply for another visa simultaneously?

You know that while processing your study permit you will get your temporary resident visa as well. Unless you wanted to travel to Canada as a tourist this will just complicate things.

I would suggest you defer your admission to the next semester and wait for the TRV you applied as a tourist to be approved a rejected and then apply for study permit to be on the safe side.

If the date of travel as a tourist is different from the date you are going to apply for your study permit then you could do both but frankly its risky if they think you are trying to go to Canada by any means possible and neither of your applications are genuine.
