Hi Everyone,

I am an Alberta Provincial Nominee with post grad work permit
I applied November 23, 2017 by mail, AoR Jan 2018.
I received my Medical Exam Invite during May 2018, completed Medical Exam by end of May
Passed Medical Exam in June, and received "Invitation to Pre-arrival services" on June 21, 2018
Now my status shows: Process background check, and it has not moved since June, till now
I'm a little worried as my friends are getting PPR, 3 months they pass medical

Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical: results You passed the medical exam.
Review of additional documents: We are reviewing the additional documents you provided.
Interview You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Final decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

I recently moved, so I updated my address, that's why it says reviewing additional documents submitted...

Can anyone tell me if this is normal to wait like 6 months after you pass medical exam? What is a reasonable processing time for this?

Thank you guys a lot!!

I think it's a normal, actually your application process faster than others like me. Applied 21 Feb, AOR on March 15 and nothing till now, not even MR. And the whole process should be between 15-19 month from the received date, some really lucky guys got PPR in a year. So don't count on MR date.

It is normal and it is not about when you got medical request. It is about when immigration office received your application.
Officers currently working on early September applications.
I am August applicant and I finally got my ghost update this week.
Normally aplicants get PPR in 16 months.
Since you are November applicant, I am guessing you will get your PPR by next year March due to officers will go on long holidays on middle and end of December.

You only went 4 months with no updates. Come on, there's no cause for concern just yet. Your application has been in process for about a year, well below the current processing times.

I was only thinking that since I passed medical in May, that should be the last stage
but yes, I agree with you that overall processing time is still 7 months away from regular processing time
