Hi All,
I would like to share my IDP success story. This my first attempt for IELTS. It took around 25 days for EOR.
Test Date: 29th September Bangalore
Result TRF delivered home address: 20th October
EOR Applied for Writing: 24th October Reached head office Gurgaon- 26th October
Previous Result: L/R/W/S: 8/7.5/6.5/7.5
After EOR Result today TRF delivered home address: L/R/W/S: 8/7.5/7/7.5
Earlier CRS: 402 CRS after EOR: 447

I was a mute spectator in this forum, was seeing all the success stories and failure stories. The main reason I applied for EOR was, my CRS was down just because of my writing, that too by 0.5. I would say, if you are missing the cut off by 0.5, especially in Writing, go for EOR. Yes, even though I was not much confident about the structure of my essay, I was confident about the content of my essay.

And I need a suggestion. I already have Paper based IELTS booked for Dec 15th( I applied EOR 9500 and same day booked paper based IELTS 12500 :) expecting no change in EOR), Now that I don't have to write IELTS and I would like to check is there any difference in cancellation If I switch to Computer based ? For normal paper based it is 5 weeks, but now that I just have 3 weeks for exam. Any Jugaad to cancel exam is welcome :)

Thanks,
Vinay
Congratulations!

Hello Strivers,

I would like to share my success story of the eor process:D. Also I would like to tell all the band 6.5'ers with multiple attempts not to give up your dream just because of this exam!!:)

Exam Partner - BC
date - 13th Oct
Result - ( LRWS) 9/9/6.5/8
EOR applied - 2nd Nov for writing
EOR outcome - writing increased from 6.5 to 7

This is my 7th attempt. In all previous attempts I got 6.5 for writing. However I worked on my grammar, vocabulary( reduced making errors) and followed a format given by this site called IELTS Advantage.com( sharing the source because it can help someone).after results came I was puzzled why I still got 6.5. So I Applied for recorrection and finally I got the desired result!!

Guys, please do not give up. Please get your essay marked atleast once by a IELTS SPECIALISED TEACHER. You will realise how many mistakes you have been doing. These examiners want you to do what they expect you to do, not your own version of an essay. If you improved grammar mistakes and handle vocab carefully and answered exacly for question with a format, just apply for recorrection if results dissapoints you. It takes a senior examiner to identify the effort you have put in to get marks from all for band criterias and they just might give you the result you deserve!!!

Thanks for everyone in this thread who share their success & failures. My advice is identify the unique mistakes you do and follow a format when writing essay.

Godbless & good luck!!:)

I would like to ask someone's advice on my IELTS score

I've just received my results as follows: (LRWS) 8 / 7 / 7.5 / 6.5

This is score I was aiming for, except the Speaking part where I needed 7.0 to qualify for CLB9 level.

Here is a catch: I have taken the Academic IELTS before (4 years ago) and the score I got was: (LRWS) = 7.0 / 5.5 / 5.5 / 7.0
The speaking part was 7.0 before coming to Canada and completing here post-secondary education.

I was shocked to see the speaking part 6.5. Would you suggest me to go for re-evaluation?
Also what are the chances of getting +0.5 for the speaking part in my case?

I am afraid if I take the test again I won't be able to score as high as 7.5 for writing, so going for re-evaluation is my plan. I was very fluent during the Speaking part and was confident that my score would be at least 7.5-8

Hello experts.

I am planning to apply for eor . (Will get trf today) .
But I have updated my express expre profile with new scores and mentioned the trf . My new scores giving me 3 point advantage over my last score.
My question is if I apply for eor , can I keep the credentials of same ielts results ? Or should I change back to my previous IELTS scores till the results of eor comes ?

Thanks.

Hello,

Do we get any information on the EOR results regarding a change or no, in the manner of email or text? Or will we just get the updated TRF?
