Extend working holiday visa in Canada

Hi all,

I'm in need of some real help here.

I originally had a 6month open working permit visa when filling out my application online but when arriving to customs immigration via Toronto, the visa officer had changed for the two full years (as I requested) but when checking my visa only recently, she's only put it down for the one year - now expiring in 5 months time. My eTA document is still valid beyond my open work permit. I have tried to download the IMM 5710 form to extend my open work permit, but I am not 100% sure on which selected options to check and the form is also still unavailable to download/fill out from the CIC website. I simply would like to have my open work permit extended for the full 2 years (as I originally requested), and I am having trouble in doing so. I have tried to call to speak to an agent but have had little success in doing so.

I've sent a web form with all this information already, but I thought I'd try on here to see if anyone knew what to do. I'm from Australia and just want to extend my one year to two years!

That's strange that you were only given one year. Did you have two years of health insurance coverage when you entered Canada?

assume you followed the instructions here for IMM 5710 and have written a letter to accompany the application.

A paper application may take as long as 4 months to process
