Hi guys me again.

I have one more dilemma:

So I applied Outland August 2018, and not thinking I could have been approved so fast, I booked flights for Xmas to go see my boyfriend and spend 2 weeks there.

Now, I got PPR yesterday, which means – most likely – I will have COPR before the 27th of December (day of my flight to Toronto).

My question is, can I not activate the COPR upon my landing and just land as a turist with my ETA ? I am not planning to move permamently untill late February, as I still need to organize everything and also go to see my family for about a month back in Italy (I live in the UK).

Thank you all

Sure nothing to stop you coming to Canada as a visitor subject to usual entry conditions without activating your PR status. Assuming you have a visa exempt passport then until you complete your landing your ETA to board a plane remains valid. After you complete your landing you would need a PR card or PRTD to board a plane back into Canada given at some point the system will catch up and cancel your ETA.

Thank you!
Yes I hold an Italian passport with an ETA attached to it. Should I mention it to the officers once I land in Toronto that I do not wish to activate the PR ?
