Hello Guys,

I understand score might get fluctuated slightly ( ~ 0.5 band) based on the examiner on speaking and writing section. I was wondering if you guys can put on your thoughts based on your experience in regards to IELTS test. Which one among IDP or British council is better in terms of giving IELTS score?

I can only speak for myself. Took British Council Test in 2012 got LRSW 8.5,8.5,7,7. Took IDP in 2018 LRSW 9,9,8,7.5. In 2018, I had done more preparation and more focused practice in 2018, my speaking was a million times better in 2018 and writing was also significantly better but still scores only increased by 1 and 0.5 respectively - so in line with my experience, I had to work much harder in IDP to obtain slightly better scores, but the rumor says that BC is more strict so that's why I decided to go with IDP this time around.

So one can conclude that they both are same at least as far as my experience is concerned. Go with whichever is more convenient for you.
