the earliest of these 2.....1) your passport expiration date.... 2) medical exam anniversary date (i.e., 1 year from medical exam date)

just to clarify , i am in Canada on a tourist visa and have done a 2nd medical, police check and background declaration because the first ones expired.

From this and other correspondence i expect to be approved soon. However my return flight to Australia is early Dec.

If im back in Oz and i get approved, what is the longest time frame I can wait before i have to come to Canada?
I dont want to go back and then be told you have 2 weeks or a months the get back here. if thats the case i will try to delay my Dec flight.

Thanks guys :)

What Wakki said.

You know the dates you had the exam(s) and the date of expiry of your passport, so you are in an excellent position to predict the expiry date of your CoPR.

You can wait until the expiry date of your CoPR, but you MUST land and declare PR in Canada by (or on??) that date. One day later for any reason (whether in your control or not) and you will have to start again. Personally, I would not leave it until a few days before the expiry date!

My australian passport expitation date? or one yr from my medical date?

you must land as PR in Canada at the earliest of your Australian passport expiration date or one yr from your medical exam date.....your COPR will have expiration date of the earliest of your Australian passport expiration date or one yr from your medical exam date

You have one year from the date of your most recent medical
So of example if you had your medicals done in March, you have until March to land.

hi guys and thanks for the info.

i am a bit confused about it all as i have emailed immigration 3 times asking this question and they misinterpret what im saying. (their response was how soon can i come).

our local member in SK, who were brilliant in speeding up the process, after it had stalled for over a yr, hey have told me it varies and it may be 2 weeks or 2 months.

My passport it valid till 2020 and my medical was just done on october 2018.

Pretty simple. As already stated passport expiry or a year from your medical, whichever comes first. Your medical expiry Oct 2019 is first, so that is when your COPR will expire.
