Hello,

It is so stressful seeing the AOR1's being entered into the "May Spouce Sponsorship Excel sprasheet. Happy for those that receive, but for myself, the waiting is so difficult. From your experience, when we see some getting AOR1's who applied later, is this generally because their application is an easier application? Isn't the AOR1 simply a notice to say CIC received the Sponsorship Application?

Thank you for your time.

Hello,

Yes, we received the AOR1 notification, sponsorship has been approved, medicals passed, the application is now with the visa office in Paris and received notice too that they have started the background check, which is the criminal and security check. This is basically the last part of the process.

My husband is from a country that is not visa exempt, so I am sure he will be called in for an interview. In the GCKey it says interview not requested, but this could change, all documents are submitted successfully, there is nothing else that they need. We have submitted the schedule A, criminal check and bio-metrics, fee paid in full. I am scrupulously organized.

GCKey and ECAS all linked. Received GCMS notes two weeks ago, to ensure what is in the notes match what is in the GCKEY and ECAS and spoke with an agent on two separate occasions, however, their feedback is rather generic in nature. I have a friend that works in Immigration, although she does NOT have access to our application, she reviewed EVERYTHING for us before we submitted. It's always good to have someone review to ensure nothing is missed.

I may request my GCMS notes again in February to see if what is in the notes received two weeks ago has changed compared to the notes in the future. I think it will be interesting to see. Unless we get PPR.... Inshallah we finish early!!!!!!!!!!!!

The wait continues.

That’s good to hear.
How many months before you receive your 1st aor? It’s been 5 months and we didn’t hear anything

If I were in your shoes and you reside in Canada, call CIC and ask an agent for the status, also, order your GCMS notes to see what they are doing.

https://www.canada.ca/en/services/immigration-citizenship/helpcentre/search.html?q=contact number sponsorship&idx=10

There is valuable information on this government web site. Calling an agent may or may not give you the information that you need, but it sure does not hurt. Utilize ALL your resources. Also, you can contact your local Canadian MP. I had a friend that did, who was sponsoring her husband "inland" and she found that helped a lot. She had gone past the 1 year mark and was clearly stressed that the process was taking so long. It took two weeks for her MP to contact CIC and then it took about three more weeks for CIC to get back to her in her GCKey with the information that she was requesting.

Hope this helps.

Hey guys...

I am a May 2018 AOR.
The status of my application changed today to "processing background check." :) This is almost after 4 months as my application was transferred to NDVO in June. o_O
Anyone knows how long will it take for PPR to kick in now??

Thanks!

BCG check depends on how many countries applicant visited as they will surely ask from all places. It may only take 2 weeks but as I said it hangs to a moth even more..

Just received the pre-arrival letter too. Does that mean PPR coming sooner???
