Question about the PPR process. Do you have to send your actual passport in or can you just scan/photocopy it? I live in Toronto at the moment but it's my only form of ID, plus I'm travelling to the States in December so I want to make sure I have it back in time for that. Alternatively is there somewhere in Toronto I can just drop it off and pick it back up?
If you're inland the new process is that they will call you for a landing interview. You don't need to send your passport anymore.

Hello everyone, July 9th Aor here.
I have two questions.
1. Does it impact my application processing time if my passport says "government officer"? In good or bad way?
2. Do applications with one and only main applicant get processed faster than those having dependents?

1. For this one I'm not certain. My guess is depends on what sort of position you hold in government may matter. I'm not certain.
2. For this one I'm certain. It does not matter.

I think having dependents may even give an edge judging from the data set of those who get PPR in less than 50 days. 70% of them have dependents.

:D:D Well that's possible but I doubt that is a key factor. But if data is overwhelming I guess no harm in believing in it.

1.Processing time for civil servants would naturally take longer than normal applicants in particular their security clearance though I'm not certain.
2. I read it otherwise that applications with more dependents on it get processed faster & even Immitracker kinda prove it to be right. We don't see a large family going into SS as compared to single applicant.
Just sharing my opinion,I could be wrong.

Ohh so both the points go against me in this case. :(

you're CAD 150 richer. I don't get why you're not rejoicing.
LOL! I am rejoicing now, though I was initially shocked to find a refund from IRCC (until I found that it was excess fee refund). But I am still not clear if the refund means I am close to PPR or if my application has just been picked for processing.

It depends, but given how busy IRCC is these days, we should keep our hopes reasonably realistic regardless of all these factors, my advise don't expect anything before 5-6 months.
Yep processing is a little slow anyways. So, better not to expect PPR sooner like 2017 trend.

It could mean your eligibility have been set to be passed or recommended Passed and being handled for further stages.

You can order your notes now, BUT its important that you do order notes if you don't recieve your PPR in 5 months just to make sure about security process and that you're not in SS.

Please update me what is in your notes. I’m in a similar situation in which my eligibility hasn’t been initiated yet.
Sure. Will let you know. Since my VO is Montreal, I am not very hopeful of getting any additional information from the GCMS notes as well..
