I am a Fisheries Research Analyst. I work for a government agency. I conduct research on fisheries and fisheries policy in my country, conduct data analysis, write reports, share results with other members of the agency and other experts in the marine science/policy community, provide consultation and advice to policy makers, and help administer a fisheries management program. I was happy this NOC existed because my duties are more aligned with NOC 4161 than NOC 2224 (conservation and fisheries officers) or 2121 (Biologists and related scientists) .

Could anyone please guide me on a point that if the last two of the below-mentioned main duties (NOC 4161) have not been done by you, can you still select this noc as the first four points accounting for 66% of total duties match your profile?

Lead Statement (4161) Natural and applied science policy researchers, consultants and program officers conduct research, prepare reports, provide consultation and advice and administer programs in a variety of areas related to the natural and applied sciences. They are employed by federal, provincial and municipal governments, computer and office furniture manufacturers, educational institutions, research organizations, consulting firms, environmental and conservation organizations, or they may be self-employed.

• General learning ability to conduct research and develop programs related to transportation, communications, natural resources, agriculture, the environment, energy, land use, recycling and other scientific fields
• Verbal ability to prepare research reports and to promote public awareness and education on such issues as utilization of natural resources, the environment, and reprocessing and reducing waste
• Numerical ability to conduct statistical analyses
• Innovative interest in co-ordinating information to conduct research and to develop policies and programs in the natural and applied science fields
