AOR 8th June, 2017
Eligibility and Crim passed 1st Dec, 2017
Foss chk 9th Jan, 2018
Additional Doc Schedule Form A requested 22 Feb, 2018
Schedule form A submitted 22 March, 2018
Waiting ever since.
What is FOSS check? Is it security screening?
Your timelines are almost similar to mine. I'm May 2017 AOR with eligibility passed on 18th December 2017. Schedule A was requested on April 24th and was submitted on April 26th. Since then no activities at all. I think my security started on 14th March and still on going. Fed up with all this useless delay .

Yes i think SS starts when you submit Schedule Form A. The wait drains all energies out of you. “Express Entry” is not so “express” for everyone. My excitement for PPR email have died down considerably.

Yeah exactly mate. Instead of excitement it'll be more of a relieve for people like us. And if the SS starts after submitting schedule A then the only option I've left is to file for a writ of mandamus. Yes it's expensive but it'll get the file finalised soon. I'm definitely not gonna wait until next year April to get any correspondence from these twats.

@Reykhan, there was a point during my security screening when i was totally depressed and there didn't seem to be a way out of this security screening. I finally had to swallow the hard pill of filing the writ of mandamus. I had to hire a lawyer for this. He only sent a letter to them that if CIC does not finalize the application within 30 days, then we are submitting our mandamus application in court. The funny thing was that on the last day of our deadline, I received the re-medical request.

I will wait till the end of November and then let my lawyers know about the situation. Hopefully it won’t come to that.

Sounds like a good plan. I'm also only waiting until the end of November myself and that's pretty much all the time I wanna give to IRCC. But I want my lawyer to send them a warning email by the end of this month.

Guys, this is what I've received this morning from the London VO. Absolutely infuriated after seeing this shit. Basically all they do to us is just lies and let our applications rot for months and months :mad::mad:

Thank you for your email.

Please be advised that background checks are
currently ongoing for this file. These checks
were initiated in June. We are unable to advise
when these checks will be completed as they are
conducted in Canada and unfortunately our office
is in no position to expedite them. Background
checks may take up to more than six months
sometimes, however, rest assured that our office
continues to monitor the situation and requests
frequent updates from the office in charge of these checks.

Please note every application is different and
the processing time may differ from one file to the other.

We appreciate your patience during this process.

Yours sincerely,

When they say background checks... does that mean "Security Screening"? Or is it the normal background check? because you said your eligibility was clear in Dec 2017. They can't run background checks again and again once your eligibility gets a green signal. or can they?

Bro it's security screening. When I ordered CBSA notes in August, they replied me early last month and asked for a 30 days extention. I still haven't received them up to this date and it's been well over 30 days.

What's boiling my blood is that if they've only initiated my screening from June then how long further are they still planning to take. Under normal security it only takes them maximum 2-3 weeks to finalise the file and issue PPR.

I am going to assume I am on the same boat as you are as our timelines are the same. So June..... this means June 2019 Remed, MAYBE. Thats a bummer...

@Reykhan bro, unfortunately, you would have to wait. That is the only answer that you will get from this forum. At this time, I will encourage you that you don't go for mandamus since your security just started. Unless your application duration has crossed more than 16 months, it is not advisable. It will be a waste of money and time.

Yeah that's what I thought as well but it's just that my application is on 17 months and counting. IRCC has been misleading me since March this year by saying that my application is going through background checks. I guess what I can do is to wait until early November when my file will be on 18 months and then engage with the Mandamus proceedings. What do you reckon?
