You should have first extended your work permit and then applied for a bowp for your wife, as you are the PA, she will get work permits based on the time period of yours. Since she applied before extending yours and your WP is less then 6 months valid ( in your case only 1 or 2 months were valid when she applied ) it got rejected
Now you got to extend ur work permit and then apply restoration of ur wife first. Get a visitor visa for her and then apply for a open work permit based on your WP

Everytime extending WP for family is a big headache. If they refuse our health cards , driving licenses will expire.

Start process for work permit extension. Did they start your security?

I can't. I am not working, yes they said my security had started over 5 months ago. I did my medicals in March but have not gotten an update since

Hey guys
Anyone who needs work permit right away can go to the border and can get it hand to hand.
Make sure u guys have all necessary documents before you go to the border crossing.

I got my gcms notes today and it’s saying my security check not started...
I think there is some loophole in the process..
coz when I got email from MP they said that my security checks were initiated from May 2017..
I am Jan 2017 applicant AOR March 2017.

I am not sure
Just wait till sometime. If not call the ircc call centre...
I am in the same situation
But I got extended work permit for 2 years.
I would suggest that u better get that if it is about to get expired
