I just recieved the Medical Exam Request!

Application Received : July 5th
AOR1: September 29th
Medical Request: October 3rd

**UPDATE**

I just booked the medical exam, I just wanted to point out that our medical exam costs $391USD. [They do not take health insurance/benefits. Cash/Credit only]
Thought that might help other people who have medical exam's coming up.
Also - As soon as you get your medical request CALL to book an appointment, ASAP.
Our medical examiner had a 3 week wait, and just so happened to find a cancellation he was able to squeeze us in for next week. You need your medical exam done within 30 days so having an exam done the very last week would have been so stressful. I don't want anyone to have to go through missing the 30 day cut off and having to deal with more stress!

Hope those tips/insights are helpful

Hello,
I living out side Canada with my spouse. We will move to Canada once my spouse obtain the permanent residence.
I am submitting with application a bank statement showing a balance of about 70,000 Canadian dollar. That amount will be used to cover the living expenses in Canada. We will look for a job in Canada after moving.
Is that considered a good proof of how I would support my self and my spouse when we will move to Canada?

Thank you.
Yes. It will be a good proof. Since you're living outside Canada, you must also include proof that you're actually wanting to go back here when the application is finished like inquiries to landlords of potential places that you'll move into, opening a bank account in Canada if the money is still not in a Canadian financial institution, etc.

July 20th applicant here- i heard nothing from ircc up to this moment.
You should hear something soon. We just got our AOR today. If you want, try calling IRCC for confirmation.

Hi everyone,

I am a Canadian citizen that applied to sponsor my wife, an Indian citizen. Her application for PR was received July 9, 2018. She got instructions to get her medical exam on September 25, 2018 and the results have been received, and just today I got word that our application has been sent to the visa office in CPC Mississauga for further processing. After a long silence it's nice that things seem to be moving faster now. I am planning a trip there for early next year and still hoping it's possible to bring her back with me.

Every application is different, so it moves differently as well. Try calling IRCC if they can see what the hold up is on their end, if any.

It means that it has moved forward already to the next stage. This does not correlate with the medical exam being passed. Call IRCC then press 1-1-2-3 as instructed if you're the sponsor. You will just have to input your application number and PA's birth year. You should then hear everything that is on the GCKey page, including medical status. It's basically the phone version of GCKey.

Hello, I am in the same boat. I am a Canadian citizen but have been living with my husband, a british citizen, for 2.5 years in England. For my proof of supporting us I also submitted bank balances (of about $38,000 Canadian savings), plus a letter stating what our plan was. I.e. what our various credentials / education was, job experience, what jobs I have already looked into etc. And also as a failsafe, if we cannot find accomdation right away, or a job right away, then we will be moving in with my mum temporarily until we do (and then provided a letter from my mother stating this was the truth).

Hope this helps :)
