The pool shrank a little for the first time in a while. A good sign I guess.

My suggestion, and please try if at all possible (easier than doing French)- aim for a 8.5 in Listening and 8 in the other modules. This does enhance your score.
8.5 in Listening, 8 in reading and 7.5 in speaking and writing will do.

There are people who booked IELTS every month for almost a year and got the desired score in umpteenth attempt. My husband maxed out in third attempt. So, try to improve IELTS score beside learning French. Good luck.
Listening 8. What if I could do it. Infact I have already started it.

I concur with the others that you should try to improve your IELTS score first as a way to cross the 440 barrier, if your test was recent you may even have feedback on their website.

My 5th Ielts was yesterday:
Rocked: Writing. My best of all 5 attempts and sure will be getting 7.5 at minimum.
Bombed: Listening. My worst of all 5 attempts and 1st time I will be getting <8.
RS: Never been a problem.
Overall: I will still be at 439 and will be loosing points in couple months due to age. This is the last thing I did toward Canadian dream and will not spend even a penny now onwards. Matter of fact, I have given up on Canadian dream already.
Strategy: I am considering master in nursing/physical therapy in Australia, physician associate in UK, and phd in USA. Already started preparing for GRE and will sit for test in 45 days or so. Hope US does not deny me student visa because I already did undergrad and grad there.

Your statement is misleading. You are just looking at the pool how it was 2 days after normal draw. So no that decrease is just an illusion.

Guys, I need some guidance. Here is my situation with my consultant :

My profile was created on 30th dec by a consultancy and it got expired on Jun 8th. We got a mail that it could be because of the following reasons -

Below are a few examples of why a candidate will be found ineligible:
• not having a valid language test,
• language test results that are more than two years old,
• a language test score that is too low,
• not having enough relevant work experience,
• not having the required education level,
• not having enough funds.

Since the first five points were valid for my profile only the last point was the reason behind my profile becoming ineligible.
At first they told me it has happened with evryone and CIC has all of a sudden decided to make all insufficient funds profile ineligible. Our profile was created in 2017 and the fund requirement was changed in January (which we discovered later) The funds were not updated in my profile according to this new rule till june !

According to my consultant:-

1. since the profile got ineligible in June it does not imply it was because of funds (though the letter clearly mentions) since updates to fund were made in jan.

2. It was CIC's decision to make it ineligible and hence not their mistake since CIC earlier had a rule (According to them) that if the profile is
created in 2017 it will follow 2017's fund requirement.

I am trying to make them understand that what they are saying isnt correct. Can some pls guide me if there is mentioned anywhere on CIC's website that the profile can be made ineligible anytime when they check and find our profile not meeting the requirement? and not necessarily immediately after updates in a rule ?

Have you checked to see if the electronic IELTS is accepted?

Just a quick question please. my employment letter (hence also reference letter) refers to my start date as Oct 3 2017, but my pay-stub shows i actually started getting paid on the week of Oct 8th due to orientation and filling of paper work occurring between 3rd and 8th. Would that potentially cause problems for me, cos i plan on entering the express entry pool by the night of Oct 2nd since i expect a draw to happen on the 3rd. My work permit expires by the first week of November so i was planning to hopefully get in the first rounds of ITA so i have enough time to apply for my pr and also my BOWP.

If they don’t skip or decrease draw size, it will be possible. But u know, this year CIC is hard to be predicted.

Hey @JssAmA I also only have a bachelor degree and 1.5 years of work experience. I have perfect IELTS score and got maximum points for it. My CRS score is 431. How did you manage to boost your score to 439? Let me know if you have any tips for me.

I have done my undergraduate in Canada.

Honestly no. The TRF is the same so I thought no issues there but you are right. Will confirm that.

I'm taking it on the 9th. It's just a matter of preference, really. If you're more comfortable typing than writing, then do the computer based test. It's also more convenient - you don't need to report two hours ahead of the test, the result is available within a week, the writing part is easier because it's easier to edit things and a word count is displayed.
