Hi friends,

I am applying for visitor's visa and hired a consultant who asked me to provide the NOC from spouse as one of the supporting document to be submitted. How important is the NOC? What if spouse is not willing to provide the same..

Thanks in advance..

If I apply for travel visa for myself alone and not for entire family, I need to provide the dates of travel and in this case NOC from spouse that there is no problem if I travel alone on those days..
May be I should not call NOC but a letter from Spouse..

Unbelievable! Your current immigration consultant is primitive! As an adult, you do NOT need any NOC from your wife to travel abroad alone.

You would have needed an NOC/letter of consent if your minor children were accompanying you

Spoke to my Consultant, he said there were few cases in the past which were rejected due to this reason.. Now I am not sure if he is just covering up whatever he told once. I am totally confused.

Is anyone married, applied for Visitors Visa alone and no such documents were submitted

I suggest you hire a new consultant. Your current consultant is making a mockery of your application. You are not a minor!

Why don't you look at the TRV refusal letter (in general) and see if there's any such refusal reason listed?

Even in India, there is absolutely no rule, law or regulation which demands that someone must seek the written permission of his/her spouse to travel within India, or to go abroad, or to go to the supermarket, or to go for a movie, etc. I truly hope you realize how ridiculous this idea is for any sane adult

Thanks again, And I do agree with you.. I have decided not to provide such document.. I may not change the consultant, as I have already paid but will utilize the knowledge from the group to resolve the problems.

I am from Pakistan. And my husband is Canadian citizen. We applied for PR on 14 June 2018, and it is in process. Now it is in London Visa office. During this we applied for visitors Visa on 15 August 2018 . And it got refused due to following reason:
1. Our letter didn't satisfy immigration officer.
2. Family ties not mentioned.
3. Purpose of visit.
Duration of my stay in Canada.
Now my questions are:
1. can I reapply for visitors Visa or wait until PR Visa is approved.
2. How will I know my PR status now.
