Is this supposed to be a physical letter or email? My wife hasn't received any email but we'd have to check and see if she received physical mail.

It usually get by email once the eligibility of principal applicant is passed. I am an October applicant myself and nothing heard yet.
Has your status changed to background check? Neither of us had received any email, just our status that changed today after 7-8 months of silence.

It can be a good sign but my background checks has started since May so nothing else.

From my understanding, your application may just be sitting for the "bring forward" date.. Strange you've been waiting since May for background check to clear. Also strange that it took my application so much longer to reach to that point lol.

Same to you too but background checks are done by third party sometimes it starts before and sometimes after eligibility has passed. Allhamdolliah our process is complete. Here goes the timeline: Key learnings would be: Best to get rukhsati n walima done and share pictures not just for these events but the day to day time spent together. Keep sending them ongoing proof of relationship periodically even if they don't ask for it.

Proof of ongoing relationship doesnt necessarily mean chat logs, they can be money transfers , gifts etc too. Any proof that you can gather send it. In the letter they said "you have been married for more than a year yet you haven't shared any proof of your ongoing relationship and haven't visited them.
