Advice - Taking 2 Master degrees for 3 years PGWP

Hello all,

I have a question. If I applied to a program thats1 year and get the SP, can I (after graduating from that program) apply within Canada to another Masters program that is 1 year in duration in order to get 3 years PGWP?

Do you think the initial 1 year program will question the VO as to why I would spend a huge amount of money to do a 1 year program? Should I disclose that I plan to do another 1 year program after I finish the first one in the SOP?

Also, is this plan worth it or risky in terms of extending the SP?

Any advice is appreciated.

Lot of people do 1 year Master program. No problem there and no issues in doing another 1 year Master to get 3 year pgwp.

No need to disclose the second Master program in SOP ...once you finish 1 year program extend your study permit and you will have no issues.

When you say that you will apply for 2nd Master program after completion of 1st program then you are at risk. I am talking about the risk of not able to obtain LOA for 2nd program.

Instead of applying after completion of 1st program, you should apply almost 10-12 months before the 2nd program intake starts. You need to be in the pool of early applicants to get a confirmed seat for the program. I am sure you may be aware of this, just a word of caution.

Thanks for that. I have actually thought about the same point. Right now I'm just considering all the available options.
