Unfortunately, we fell into the motor voter trap because we live in one of 11 motor voter states. Please read:. http://www.usavisacounsel.com/articles/beware-immigrants-automatic-voter-registration.htm
As a result, my spouse may face deportation and being accused of misrepresenting a US citizen even though my spouse presented a foreign passport to DMV official in order to apply for a state driver's license. My spouse couldn't have known registering to vote is illegal when the same state DMV official, who reviewed the foreign passport, presents my spouse a voter registration application to complete. Apparently, everyone is handed a voter registration card when applying for a driver's license, unbeknownst to us. I will consider moving to Canada in order to be with my spouse if we lose our case. My question is would my spouse be admissible in Canada. Thanks.
