Hi there,

I just had a look at my GCMS reports and mine doesn't have any TRIAGE 1 but it does have REFUSAL GROUND 1 which for some reason is created in 2014 which is 3 years before I submitted my citizenship application so don't really know why it's there. Have you reached out and asked ?
Lol. I have the same thing. 3 years before but it’s empty. No details there.

I'm glad that I'm not alone. Mine shows 2014 as well. I called the call center, and was told there wasn't anything wrong with my application. The lady was very nice and told me my case was last updated on Dec 23rd, 2017. No decision had been made, and definitely was not a refusal.

I am in same boat as you are with similar time lines.

I guess granting citizenship is not a priory not until the elections are just few months away, right now the priority seems to be processing refugee applications. The system is completely broken. It should be First in first out. but apparently it is highly based on individual officers some are fast some a too lazy and the best thing is they have broad authorities with zero (at least it looks like) accountability.

Moreover Mississauga must be hugely understaffed and is responsible for so many other streams of immigration. like parents, spousal etc...

This process effects your life your future plans, you and your loved ones are in undue stress because of this process. but who cares.

The only thing we can do is wait and try to keep us as calm as possible.
Hmm, how come I have not thought about it? You are right, they are spending more time on the "refugees". We are not important until next year when we have to vote federal again.

Hi All,

Does anyone have any updates ?

I have now been in-process since September 2017 and loosing patience to be honest as it will be a full 1 year next month since I have applied for citizenship.

The GCMS report is fine and my communication with CIC tells me that my file is in order and the processing is going on at the Mississauga location but it has been 11 plus months now.

I have not heard any citizenship grant application taking this long.

Not really know what my next steps can be now.

Any suggestions ?

As you're now just weeks away from your 12-month anniversary, I believe that that means that the IRCC call centre agents will (once it's been 12 months since the delivery date of your application) will be able to 'ping' your local IRCC office in order to find out for you what's happening. So, ironically, getting to your full 12 months does have that advantage to it, if one looks on the brighter side of things.

Hello Everyone,

I see many people waiting for progress on their citizenship applications, still can someone suggest if I should be concerned based on the timeline below:
App sent: 18 Dec 2017
App received: 20 Dec 2017
AOR: 27 Jan 2018

Also, are finger prints and Interview needed for all applications?

Fingerprints are NOT compulsory, only a few get notified to undertake the process.
Interview is a compulsory step in the application process, which all have to undergo.

One month is too short and really normal to not have heard anything

Hi All,

I wanted to get some advice from experts / other fellow applicants who might have more experience in thie process than me.

Here are my case timeline details :-
  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on September 11, 2017.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on October 12, 2017.
  3. We started processing your application on November 2, 2017.
This is my 10th month after application and have heard nothing from CIC after the 3 rd update about the processing of my application starting from Nov 2 - no update about fingerprints or anything.

Based on my earlier posts and advice shared I have already applied for my GCMS notes ( I believe I should be getting them in a month as I applied last week ) and also sent a request to my local MP ( never heard anything back from him as of now ). What else can I do ?

Yes I know that I need to be patient but I have been patient now for close to 10 months and applied with more than enough days of physical presence requirement and all the necessary documentation.

I need some sincere advice here please because when I see people getting citizenship within 4 - 5 months of applying and even people who applied months after me getting citizenship I fail to understand why is mine getting delayed.

Hello Nick677, Thank you for sharing your timeline. I would like to know the status of your citizenship application and please let me know if you have done your test.
