Hi All,

I am an international student from India, got admission in a college in thunder bay. If I book ticket through winnipeg is economical than going via toronto.
My Itinerary is India>France>U.S>Winnipeg>Thunderbay.

Will I face any immigration issue if i choose the above itinerary.

Also, guide if I need any transit visa (though i stay only in airport during transit flights).

Thanks.

If you are travelling through US then no matter you coming out from plane or not, you will have to obtain US transit VISA.. even authorities at airport will not let you board the plane if you not holding US visa.. However, if you have any valid US visa then you can transit through America, otherwise not allowed.

Hope it helps.

You could go India (DEL) > Amsterdam > Toronto > Thunder Bay. Bypassing the USA completely... Have you investigated alternate routes?

Hi again,

One more doubt.

My college starts on 4th of September. My visa got approved on 16th of August.

Can I join in college by sept 8th by getting extension letter from the college?

Even if I get extension letter will there be any problem during immigration check when I land at Canada? One of my friend said there will be problems. Pls reply asap as I need to book tickets.

In short can I book tickets by sept 6th? Will there be any immigration problem?
