I do not think it will. I know of other people who sponsored their parents from the USA that had no status in that country and they are here in Canada today.I just got the lottery ticket to sponsor my parents in 2018 They lived in the States from 2003 until 2012 only with a visitor visa. Will this affect the results on the sponsorship application?
Thanks
Yes, they were illegal in the USA
Then you do not qualify to sponsor your parents. Thanks for your answers! Also, I can only qualify to sponsor one parent, as my income was reduced by my employer in the last couple of years.
My wife is not working, as she is looking after the kids. My parents are married and live together. Do you think I can apply to sponsor only one of them?

I applied because I was ok for 2015 and 2016. Then the income that my wife had in 2017 for UCB was changed as non income and that is the only year I do not qualify for. I applied in the early in January before sending my taxes and did not know of this change. I have also another sources of income as meal allowances, internet, phone and a company car but I guess that can not be included as the goverment is only asking for notices of assessment.
