Hello everyone,
I need help with IMM5669 Question 4b

Been convicted of, or are you currently charged with, on trial for, or party to a crime or offence, or subject of any criminal proceedings in any country?

In 2015 i was in a train with a valid ticket and mistakenly missed my stop. i was given a fine of €100 to pay, i paid the fine fine this year after getting a letter from a Credit Collection Agency. I don’t have any records on my Police Certificate.

What i am so confused about is if i should answer Yes to the above question..

Any Help?

I would reply 'no'. You were not charged with a crime.

Is it not an offence when someone is given a train fine and paying after two years past
Were you arrested by the police? Did you receive a police caution? Did you appear in front of a judge or magistrate? Those are crimes and offences. If you wanted to be absolutely certain, check what it says on your police certificate.

Parking tickets and fines for invalid rail tickets are not. Being chased by a credit collection agency is also not a crime.

There’s nothing on my police certificate. I wasn’t arrested noun gone to the court but i was ask by the credit collecting agency to make an appeal

It looks like an administrative fine. In Europe if you have a criminal charge they must obtain your father's and your mother's name from you in order to file criminal charges against you. If this did not happen to you then relax it is just an administrative fine that needed to be paid and has nothing to do with your PR. Also credit agencies do not collect criminal fines and do not work with the courts and police due to privacy, the fact that your details were passed on to them suggests to me that you were fined by the metro or rail company itself and not a police authority.

Either way if you declare it or not it will not make a difference to your application.

Agree with LifeDreamer. Credit agencies have a way of putting the fear of God into you with all sorts of wild threats of criminal prosecution and sometimes trying to make it look like the letter is coming from a lawyer - all of course complete and utter bullsh*t! Just pay the numpties and get it over and done with.
