Hello , I'm sponsoring my husband inland but his temporary Visa was expired long ago. The case was opened on February 12th and We have done the medical test and submitted the background check but since then we have no news. The last message we received was the confirmation about the reception of the medical exam and it was the 27th July. Knowing that we applied for open working permit and that we have a baby , does somebody know what we have to expect next ?

As he was out of status when you applied, he will not be eligible for the OWP until he gets AIP. The processing time for the OWP is 3-4 months, and for most people the time between AIP and DM is less than that, so the most likely is that he will land as a PR before getting the OWP.
Was the baby born before or after applying for the PR? If after, you should notify IRCC.
The processing time is about 12 months for the PR sponsorship. If your application was filed in February, I would not expect any news until January/ February.
The fact he was out of status will not have any impact on the success of your application.

Thanks for all the informations! The baby was born before the application was sent and we mentioned it in our application. We were told to expect the OWP 7-8 months after submitting the application when you are out of status and 4-5 month with a valid Visa , true ?

With valid status, the OWP comes in 2-4 months (not 4-5). Without status, some get the OWP in 7-8 months but it's also possible for this to take longer. It depends on the person's immigration history in Canada (i.e. how long they have been out of status, how they fell out of status). Some out of status applications are sent for further reviews which result in longer processing times.
