Once my husband is granted his visa - is there a time frame on when he has to come to Canada. Does he have to come right away or can he wait a couple of months?

He must complete the formal landing procedure by the expiry date on the visa. That is the only restriction.

Yes, he must land by the expiry date given on the CoPR and declare permanent residence. If he has a Canadian address, he can also supply this and they will start the process of getting his PR Card (which will then take 2 - 3 months to arrive).

He can then get the next plane back to his country of origin and finish selling up and organise shipping. He can take months about this, then return to Canada again (although he would need the PR Card or a PRTD) and 'land as settler' (i.e. provide his goods to follow list for customs approval.
