Biometrics instruction letter - when to expect?

On the cic website they say:
"After you submit your application, we’ll send you a letter that says so and where you can go. You’ll have up to 30 days to go in person to an official biometrics collection service location.
If you applied online
The letter will go to your account message box within 24 hours of applying. You’ll get an email to let you know that you have a new message."

Now needless to say that i havent received the letter (and yes, i do need biometrics and charge was collected upfront while paying for application). From what i understand, nobody really gets it as early as 24 hours.
Anybody who has any information on this, please share.

i wish things happened as described on their page, but having nobody who received the biometrics letter is sort of assuring that things are ok and just need time to sort out.

Is biometric requirement based on country of residence or nationality.

It is early days for the process, it can take time to iron out. When they need you to provide they will send a letter to your account. And if you are from India it is not even applicable to you as yet

Being from India does not mean you are Indian. Spouse is European, so she needs it done regardless the country of residence.

nationality. Spouse is European, so only she needs it done (and we paid the fee 1x only), since i am Indian, i dont need it. We both reside in India.

They have also changed the text, its no longer 24 hours, so im sure people are less confused now.

We received our biometrics letter last week. Got it done yesterday (12/09).

Guys, I need your help. Im worried about the timeframe for my application because I will complete the needed money for POF this feb 26.

I only have until march 25 to complete submitting the documents.


Since biometrics are needed, what is the timeline for me to complete it? Is it time consuming?


I am already processing my PCCs and medicals, so just the POF and biometrics. I will submit the whole complete application on Feb 26 or 27.

Biometrics is usually requested by IRC post submission of your application. Just focus on submitting your supporting information and IRC will request it when they need it to continue processing your application.

Hi! When did you receive the Biometrics Instruction Letter? E-medical first info sheet was created January 14. 2nd info sheet (required additional blood test for dependent son) was completed Jan 22. I submitted full applicatiom and received AOR on 23rd. When should I expect to receive the instruction letter? Thanks!
