As far as I can see, you may find a house/condo between the 2000-2500 price range which is similar or even better than surrounding cities such as Mississauga. Am I missing something here or 2000-2500 range is considered as expensive?

Oakville is typically a wealthier white bedroom community. That's what most of it is made up of. The fact there are few relatively affordable options here and there points at an exception.

Thanks aircanada. Do you know any other towns like Oakville in GTA? For example, Mississauga is too big and crowded for me.

You need to look at home prices to determine if a community is expensive. The more mature neighbourhoods in the GTA usually have bigger lot sizes and have more trees. They are also more expensive. All depends on what you want, what your budget is and where you work/commute time.

There are parts of Oakville (by the water) that are very expensive. However, Oakville has grown and now you have regular sub-developments that are priced the same, or lower than, other suburbs of Toronto.
