Dear Experts,

As observed in CRS calculator it takes range of number , want to understand how much accurate its ? in real calculation is it same or different. Also , CLB 9 means 9999 in all LRWS or its something else. Appreciate if you could guide me to link how CLB is calculated from IELTS exams.

Thanks
RR

CRS calculator is 100% accurate. CLB 9 does not mean 9 in all bands. its 8 in reading and 7 in the rest.

CLB9 means 8 in listening and 7 in remaining 3 skills. CRS calculator is accurate.

Agree with what the above members have said. If you are yet to give IELTS, you should aim for 8 7 7 7 (L R W S) or higher.

Thanks , but when i tried to maximize my cores using CRS i can see lot of improvement in total score. But in CRS i am selecting for example in reading its says 7.5 to 9 , so if i score 7,5 or if i score it doesn't matter ? or what.

I know 8777 LRWS is what every one target for, but what if when someone score more then that , does it become CLB 10?

In CRS i can choose below as max range

L 8.5 to 9
R 8 to 9
W 7.5 to 9
S 7.5 to 9

so what if I score L 8.5, R 8, W 7.5, S 7.5 i will get maximum possible CRS for language ?

Thanks
RR

Of course. It also affect transferability. Without my clb10 my profile would never have gotten an ITA immediately thanks to the push in score

Thanks, would you mind sharing individual score in L R W S ?

I don't know how does knowing the individual's scores help you as CLB 10 is straight forward. it means all the sections' scores are in the top range as you had described from the drop down box under CRS.

but for what its worth here's mine: L 9 R 8.5 W 7.5 S 9 and that is a CLB 10 score under the CRS points system

What would you suggest for gaining better scores in Reading. My reading skills are not up to the standard. Usually gets lost in the narrative, and finding answers. What would you say your core learning's were that helped to tackle Reading module.

tbh I'm not the best person to give any advise with regards to scoring in IELTS. I feel like I was just lucky. All I did was look at the format available on the official guide provided by IELTS and saw an overview video of IELTS by this YouTube instructor - Liz to get familiarized with what was expected in this test.

I guess watching some of those videos specifically for Reading might be helpful. Sorry that I couldn't be of much help here though.

9 8.5 7.5 9
Didn't practice or do anything much to be honest in case you're looking for advice.

It goes up to CLB 12 actually but I believe you get maximum points from CLB 10 or above. If you want to see the maximum points on each category as well as every breakdown, check this link. Also if you want to check the CLB equivalency, use this one. :) Hope it helps.

Im not sure whether i got more points for clb 10 than 9. But the big boost comes from the transferability points for sure
