Hello all, I am looking for answers to some questions I have about immigration to Canada. I am hoping to work, and come the 2019-2020 school year, start working towards my nursing degree. I've researched visas, and to say that I am confused is an understatement. I know there are work visas, but I don't believe you can study on them, and I know there is study visas, but I do know that you can't work outside campus on them. Is it possible to get a work and study visa at the same time? Or is there another visa I can get that would allow that? I'm immigrating from the US, and I'm only 19. Also, if anyone knows, what is the process of getting a private student loan, is it even worth pursuing? Thank you all for your time!

The information you're asking about regarding studying and working is all on the IRCC web site. The short answer is that you need a study permit. Provided you are attending school full time this will allow you to work on campus and also up to 20 hours a week off campus.

To be approved for a study permit you must show you have enough funds available (i.e. in your bank account) to cover first year tuition + $10K in living expenses. How you come up with this money is up to you. If you need a loan, you'll need to get that from your home country - you won't qualify for a loan in Canada.

You won't qualify for a work permit. A study permit is basically your only option to come to Canada and as said above, you need to show significant funds.
