Hi everyone,
I was wondering if someone was able to show bank statements as a proof of living funds for visa officers at airports

Please Note that these bank statements are from a bank outside canada

Do i i have to bring with me the 12000 CAD in form of cash or do bank statements suffice
Also is it okay if i spent some money for tickets ?

If you have got GIC, then you can show that along with the payment receipts of academic fees. Get balance certificate from local bank and take it along with you, if that is your concern.

Thanks for the reply
Unfortunately i have not applied for GIC and instead I've paid one semester fee and, currently have around 12000 cad in my bank account, and the second semester will be sposored by my brother
Thanx anyway

Don't have to have proof of all funds. Likely will ask for proof of registration for school and payment of fees if anything. You always have the option of logging into online banking or atm if they ask for more information. If you are planning on bringing cash you must declare more than $10000 (all currencies). They won't keep it and it won't be taxed so be honest. If you arrive very early (over a month) for your course the border agents want proof that you can support yourself.
