Re apply tourist visa before it expires

Hi! My canada tourist visa will expire on Jan 2019. I just got my new passport and will travel on March 2019. My question is, can i renew or re apply as early as now because I want to take advantage of the promotional airfare which happens during july or august? Thanks

You must apply for a new TRV from scratch, just like you did previously.

It's too early to apply for a visit in March 2019. Plus, as your current TRV is valid until January 2019, you can expect a refusal if you apply so soon. It would be a good idea to apply about a month or so before your current TRV expires

It's best if you email your local visa office, not VFS, to confirm whether or not you can apply for a new TRV so far in advance especially when you still have a valid TRV
