It should be OK then. When she comes here on her TRV, she must be clear that she is just visiting and will leave Canada before the time given by the border agent expires. So she should have a return ticket with a specific date, proof of ties to India, etc. Saying she is going to visit her husband is fine.
Do agree with Canadianwoman, to convince officer in airport is a challenge also to give me 6months or less but i got 6months

Hello everyone,

I am currently in the same boat.
I am a PR of Canada.
My girlfriend has a visitors visa (TRV) to visit me next year and we plan to get married in a different country before she arrives in February.

May I please know if anyone had any similar experiences and if there were any problems with the border service officer if ever she gets questioned?

Should she just say that she is visiting me since that was the original purpose and not mention anything about the marriage to avoid problems?

We are still on the fence if we will stay permanently in Canada since she is a PR of Norway but if I can convince her to stay while she is
on vacation here can we file for Inland Spousal PR before she leaves?

Thank you for your guidance

As TRV, your gf should proof a strong ties to her country so CBSA officer in POE sure if she will return home after her visit so she can enter Canada (agree with your reason stated).
After married, you need to wait 1 year so you can apply inland spousal PR, while processing, both of you should stay together.
Somehow other way is apply outland spousal PR

I think that should be fine. My husband, a Canadian marry me in my country
.After a year, i applied TRV with his invitation letter. My TRV been granted multiple till the expiry of my passport. I had a good job in my country so i could convinced immigration tht i will return to my country after- but when i arrived in Canada (i resigned from the job) i extended my TRV after 6months than we applied PR and WOP together. I got WOP after 5months and now waiting for PR still. Good luck for you
Hi,
I am a permanent resident and my wife is now in Canada (qubec) on TRV(visiting visa). What is best option
1. apply for PR as dependent.
2.or apply for extension of stay and apply for work permit?
can she apply for open work permit being on TRV? Please advise. Thanks.

I am a Canada PR and recently married (in Feb 2018). I am an Indian national and my Spouse is a Vietnam national. I need to apply for her PR Sponsorship as a spouse. Can I have her apply for a Visitor Visa first (TRV) and then apply for her PR as an inland applicant ? If I can do this - how long should her stay be indicated in her Visitor Visa application ? 6 months or can it be more ? Please advise. Thanks!

Did you resign before visiting Canada or after? also, what questions CBSA asked you when you arrived as visitor? Did they ask you about PR? My wife is also in this dilemma about her job & CBSA questions

What question did they have?
As I can remember, only 3questions. 1st whats the purpose of my visit? I answered to visit my husband and his family (my status is married not only gf) and to enjoy the spring. 2nd, whats profession i hav? Told them truth (i brought my business card and gave him one ). 3rd the time duration i will stay in Canada- my answer was I need 2weeks but my return ticket was 6months and I would adjust with the time u will give me. The officer gave me 6months (tips, dont forget to smile and dont be nervous)
Docs i brought? Tht time i didnt have travel insurance but i had married certificate, wedding pics in myphone, return ticket, invitation letter from my husband, passport and business cards.. thts all

All,

I am PR currently residing in India and getting married in November with Indian national. I am planning to go back to Canada with my spouse who already has Visitor visa for Canada. Can I travel with him same time using my PR and his visitor Visa? Also we are planning to quit our jobs in India before arriving to Canada, apply for his PR from outland and then I will search and do job in Canada once arrived. Please suggest :
1)Can we travel together after Marriage
2)Can he proof strong ties with India once he quit his job before arriving?

Any help will be appreciated.

First thing first, you cannot apply to sponsor him until you have returned to Canada. You are a PR (hopefully, you meet RO) and you can only sponsor while living in Canada. So you cannot submit your application until you come back to Canada.

Since he already has visitor visa, he will most likely allow through the border, his entry would be for "dual intend". Search discussion on that topic and read up.

In this case, you may consider applying inland (if you don't expect him the need to travel out of Canada while waiting for the approval).
