Hello, my mom came to Canada for a visit on September 2016. Due to very hard personal reasons she had to extend her stay to help my family till now. Her status will expire by end of August 2018. I checked online and found that she can she still apply for further extensions? Do think this will be approved? How this will impact her ability to get a re-entry visa in the future. Thanks

I assume she has been applying for extensions to her visit every six months to maintain her status in Canada.
Yes - she can apply to extend her stay beyond August 2018. It's not really possible for any of us to say what her chances are of approval.
In terms of re-entry, once she leaves Canada, she will want to wait at least a year before applying for a new visa to return to Canada.

from personal experience... my mum came in 2007 and we renewed every 6m and finally after 3 yrs they told her she had to go back and rejected the application... thereafter when she tried to renew her VISA they rejected it twice. so we waited 5 yrs before applying again so that it would not be mentioned on her application even though they might be able to see it but she was finally approved in 2017. she is here now and so far we have extended it once and trying to do it once more then send her back and bring her again as we do not want to take a risk. she has a 9yr visa now but back in 2007 she only had 6m visa.
