Well i dont see any good reason to say "No" to media release. They ask you just in case if the media is covering the event, you are allowing them to take your pictures or take your interview or a permission to cic to release your pictures or video to media if they want to.
Thanks, my question wasn't about saying no - rather signing if its ok to sign it in advance or whether it has to be signed in front of the officer/clerk.

The guy at the front desk checks to make sure it's signed. I don't know if he actually needs to witness you signing it, though. I suppose that if you really want to sign it beforehand, you can do so and if he has a problem with it, he'd just have you sign another. Is there a reason you wouldn't want to sign it when you get there?

I didn't have an opinion either way, rather just wanted to know what the expectation is :)

Today i had my ceremony and finally became a canadian citizen :)

Hi guys, I am an October 30th applicant. Since I’m travelling the whole month of August, I let CIC know so they wouldn’t schedule my oath during the time I’m away.

Just a question- do you think this would delay my oath call even further? Or I should get it soon after, since October applicants are getting their oath call. Anyone have experience with such an issue?

No one can answer this. You just need to wait and see.

Ecas got updated today, status changed from "Decision Made" to "Complete and a 6th line was added saying "You became a Canadian citizen on July 18, 2018."

End to end the application took approx. 8 months and 20 days, feels good to be a Canadian Citizen finally.

Good luck to all those waiting! Your time will come soon!
