Good day guys,
I will be arriving in edmonton on may 30th.
Kindly assist with the landing requirements...... as in will there be any payments and other documentation.

Thank you

Hi. I did my landing in Edmonton on Mar22nd as well. Edmonton is very laid back... No rush. No payment required anywhere. Just declare if you carry any food items (and any item on their list) and if you have CAD10000 or more in cash. Then collect your luggage and you will be asked to go to office A.
Here just present your COPRs and passports answer the questions he asks and he will sign and validate your COPR copy. Which you will need at service Canada for your SIN.

Could you tell me the fax number and which form is it? Does it have a number?
Fax No. 1-902-564-7317.
It is present on the "Address Notification - Permanent Resident Card" Form that one gets from the VO at the time of landing only.

Else you may call 1-888-242-2100 (from within canada) OR 1-613-944-4000 (from Outside Canada)

Alright... I did my Soft Landing Monday, 26th March. It was smooth. Landed around 5 PM at Toronto Pearson, and got out from airport 7 PM, took the Union Pearson Express and got to my downtown hotel by 8 PM.
As I touched the airport, just followed the sign for Non-Candian / US passports at immigration.
The Immigration officer checked my Passport & Declaration Card that I had filled in the flight, marked the Declaration Card with a couple of pink markers and directed me to the Immigration room. It was a long queue of at least 50 people when I entered, which took some time to clear before I could get to one of the officers.
He just asked for my passport, both the copies of CoPR, and the declaration card asked me to sign my CoPRs at three places and gave me one copy back along with my passport. He also gave me the Address Notification form that I needed to fill with local address and Fax to a specific number. I asked him to take my address there only but he insisted I fill the form and fax it to them later.
Another option was to submit the same information online, but it seems it takes some time before their systems get synced up for you to fill the information online. So I just faxed the form with the hope that concerned authorities have received it.

Well, I got a request for new photos today (after 6 weeks of landing). It seems they look at the date of your photo, and if its more than 6 months old, they request for the new photo.

So, a message for new PRs who are yet to do their landing, if your CoPR photo is more than 6 months old, you should ensure you get the new pictures and leave them with the Visa officer at the time of landing.

If your CoPR is 3-4 months old, just ensure you carry two latest photographs (as per canadian visa specification) to avoid a request for photographs for PR card.

Why don't you check YVR.ca on Thursday to get a general idea on the arrival flights? In general, the more flights arrive the more probability of longer line ups at immigration for landing.

Being a saturday (May 19), you can ask the other poster for sharing his experience.

Hi, guys!

I will be doing my 'soft' landing in the second week of June 2018. I have a query:

In the BSF186 form, I will be checking the box for "Settler", where it says "intention" to stay in Canada for more than 12 months. However, I will be returning to my home country in 2 weeks post landing. Will the officer ask for my landing flight tickets? I have booked a round-trip flight ticket, so just wanted to know from anyone who has recently landed as to whether the officer checks the flight tickets.

If the officer asks how long am I planning to stay, should I be honest and tell him/her that I'll just be here for 2 weeks? I have heard that they delay the processing of the PR Card in that case. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Dear experts,

I landed to Canada on 21st July 2016 as a permanent resident for the first time and stayed over there for 45 days and then flew back to the country of my residence. Meanwhile, I was in my country of residence, I renewed my passport as well. Since then, I haven't travelled back to Canada. But I am planning to fly back in the beginning of August 2018. My PR card is getting expired in the third week of August 2021.

In the view of the above scenario , I have the following queries:

1) Am I safe in terms of the residency obligations ? Since, I didn't visit Canada for around 2 consecutive years ?
2) This time , I'll be having my renewed passport along with my PR card. Is it okay as well , since I didn't inform to CIC regarding my passport renewal.

Kindly advice.

I am not legal advisor or expert,I can tell you base on my knowledge.
1) You safe to come back, but keep in mind you need to stay in Canada for two years for renewing your PR Card.
2) I think, you don't need to inform when you renewing your passport. Please bring and keep your old passport whenever you travel.

I am in same situation ...I read somewhere a lady told the immigration that she is going back in 9 days and will come back in 5 months. She didn't have any issue. But if someone else can verify here it would be helpful
