Hello everyone,

Pardon me for creating a thread on Proof of Funds when many already exist. I have a particular situation. While filling the online application, for the question "How much money will Anish Thomas bring to Canada to support themselves and their family?", I filled in the amount 33000 not knowing that for a family of 3 the minimum amount is around 20,000 CAD.

I received an ITA on June 25th. My question is do I have to furnish proof of funds for 33000 or will it be OK if I furnish for 20-22000 CAD (which is the minimum requirement)?

Best
Anish

While you fill out your forms post ITA you will be asked the same question again. You can change the amount to anything equal to or more than the minimum requirement for your family and show the same in your POF.

Hi prpurohit,

Thanks for writing back. I feel really stupid saying this but I put 33,000 there also and submitted it. No turning back now I suppose? I would have to show proof of funds for the said amount?

No. You need only show the minimum required funds.
