Hey guys, So ive been browsing around the immigration pages, and something kind of worried me, ill give you some context.

I worked in Canada as a snowboard instructor in the winters, and done various jobs in the summers. I met my girlfriend the first year whom is a canadian citizen. now im back in the UK because the visa expired and i wanted to visit family. So weve been talking about marriage as we cant apply for common law due to my job up the mountain couldnt let us live together.

But is it that simple? could she visit the UK, we tie the knot and then we can apply to be back together in canada? We have been together over a year, ( im aware it sounds very soon) But anyone in my situation can hopefully understand how much we need to be back together.

thanks

You can marry and apply immediately (once you have marriage certificate).

You can stay in the uk and her in Canada during the process (Outland application). Or you can come to Canada and apply Inland which allows you to apply for an open work permit (takes around 4 months) with the PR app. But you must be IN Canada for inland.

I would suggest going though the application checklist and ensuring you can supply what is required.

From everything thing Ive read there nothing stopping us, we have all sorts of proof anyone could want, you name it, photos, banks transfers, messeges, family letters etc.

the bit that was worrying me is Me being here in England and shed be back in Canada whilst the application is being processed. would that still work?

You need to read up on a foreign national getting married in the UK. It used to be easy but there is now a procedure to be followed.

Yes, it will work. It is very common to live apart while going through the sponsorship process.
