So this has probably been answered somewhere on the forum but I can't find it.
But my parent is paying for my tuition and supporting me financially, I know I need his bank statements and a support letter from him of some sorts .... WHAT IS THIS SUPPORT LETTER ? is there a clear format or do I just wing it ?
Cheers

No format !

Make it a normal letter that convinces the visa officer that he/she will support you in all ways , financially to be specific .

It should contain , the monthly income , employment info and that they will assist you financially for your tuition and living expenses or ALL expenses that you will face in CAN .

I had mine notarized by the atty

do I need to notarize or get an affidavit for this letter ?
Just a normal signed letter, some people insist on getting affidavit but there is no such requirement.
Check your visa office checklist for specific requirements.

Sorry for bumping up an old thread, but does it need to be in the sponsor's exact words? What if they don't know English? And does the signature need to be inked or an electronic signature (just the name below the letter closing) is enough? E.g.

[letter of support]

Regards,

No it doesn't have to. You can type something behalf of your father and write his name on it also have him sign it as well. Inked signature not electronic because you going to upload it on the web.
Write the full name and signature.

Thank you for your response.

My sponsor lives abroad but their money is in my mother's bank account which I explained in my letter of explanation. Right now, I'm working on putting together a good letter of support on behalf of my sponsor. Do they need to send me their signature in a picture? And shall the letter be on a physical paper and included in the "Proof of Funds" document as a picture?
