My student visa was rejected as a result of Subsection 16 (1). How do i fix this please?
From the Laws, this sub-section:
Obligation — answer truthfully
  • 16 (1) A person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination and must produce a visa and all relevant evidence and documents that the officer reasonably requires.
1. Did you apply on your own or through an agent?
2. Did you provide any false information or documents?
3. Were you refused under any other sections?

I applied for a us visa and it didnt cross my mind when i applied for the Canadian visa.

Were you issued a misrepresentation ban?

No, i wasnt. it says "you are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and that you can demonstrate that your situation meets this requirements ...."

In that case you are welcome to reapply - however you will have to make sure you list two refusals in your new application (the US one and also the Canadian one). Since you have now been refused, it will be more difficult for your new application to be approved. Recommend you include very strong evidence of ties to your home country.

Please can you explain "the strong ties to my country?" Like in the letter of explanation

Recommend you spend time reading through the discussions in the International Student section of the forum. This topic is extensively discussed there.
