Hi I'm new here, just wanted to ask if my father being an ex army man has anything to do with the delayed processing time?? we applied for a TRV on the 18th of May... VFS website shows 'being processed' ... thanks in advance

Yes sometimes they do background checks for defence forces .. but nothing to worry .. Indian missions are already working overtime to process large volumes of applications and so the delay.

While you are waiting for the response, why dont you go ahead and create a online account and link your paper application to your online account .. so you would know the exact status of your application and the would know if they are doing background check or not .. or even you can the see the approvals It would ease your nerves a bit .

We applied on paper through an agent, so all I have is the VFS Global tracking ID

oh.. its ok.....
i am applied from ahmedabad india.
i show financial up to 25000 $ CAD and Employment support and my father assets up to 5.00 cros indian Rupees.
