Why you was refuse? What happen?
Same as everyone else. Not genuine marriage. We applied for two ADRs. The first one was refused, they accepted the second application - only to cancel it 36 hours before the meeting. They want to speak to both of us. It is increasingly frustrating for sure, but we can only wait. That's it.

Yes. We don't speak a common language. (We do. Not sure how the case analyst figured that out since she only asked two questions in English) and he couldn't convince her that we are in a genuine relationship. Since the denial, we have travelled to Europe together and he returned back to his country and I returned back to mine - separately. We video chat everyday. I have sent in all this evidence where it shows that he writes sms messages in spanish and I reply in English - no time for translations in between. Nada. It is very cumbersome to always have to take screen shots every day and then send them in as evidence of our communication. We are talking going through thousands of screenshots. It is all not enough.

I dont know what can be the red flag :/
He sure take a English class there and there is something he not say that immgartion knows about but wouldn't say to you get to the bottom of it cause there is a reason why they keep refusing him you should make your MP write them and find out whats going on cause I had a friend they refused her the first time is went she when to court she found out that there had a problem with her marry time they claim she marry to fast and put in the paper to soon they almost refused her again is because her husband and she could of explain thereself that's why they win the case but

But did they said why it was not genuine?
Yes, I had a previous marriage attempt, I am 9 years older, I am not a virgin, and we had a small ceremony. They said these were not in line with cultural norms. Does this seem right? I thought, age and culture were not issues they could so randomly use.

How many time you visit him before the marriage?
I visited once but the issue was that my company was sold and I got integrated, my vacation was paid out so I had no vacation and 6 months of training. I could not visit him, but we saw one another in Turkey in Feb and we will see each other again in Sept this year.

I had a previous case from 2008 where we tried to have a civil marriage in Thailand (we were both foreigners to Thailand) and have the license declared in law in Iran and Canada. However the Thai official for reason wrote in our license the we had lived together for one year (maybe a language barrier or just plain error). Adding to this my intended decided not to declare our license in Law in Iran in hopes to take away my financial rights (I was unaware of all of the issues, license issue and intended issue). After an interview with my intended naturally our case was refused as "Not Genuine" so when I went to our lawyer about this issue to see how it could be appealed it came out that my intended did not want to make the union legally binding. My lawyer told me that the Thai license was not good as it was not declared in law in Iran or Canada and it was not legalized in Thailand for use by foreigners in a Thai court (so no divorce was possible). I broke ties with my intended in 2010 and did not appeal the refusal. In 2015 I met someone special and managed with much difficulty to get my Iranian passport and go back to Iran and we married legally. I applied to sponsor my legal husband and Immigration refused my case based on eligibility. So I went in search of proof of the issues wit my last case, I discovered the error in the license as well obtained a legal opinion from several Thai lawyers about the license all of which stated that the Thai license was no good. I reapplied my case and my legal husband went to an interview in Jan 2018, where he got nervous and answered questions in mish mash order. We got refused as our marriage not being genuine because he is 9yrs younger than I am, we had a small ceremony and strangely enough that I am not a virgin was an issue. I have appealed, my appeal has been approved. Although I am not sure if it is a formal hearing or an ADR, I called IAD they said I will get a hearing date in 10 months (which sounds like an ADR). My question is "can they use my old case against me again even if the visa processing officer never even mentioned it in her refusal letter? or will this hearing only deal with current reason for refusal?"

Hi Davinson
Thanks for your inspiring response. Reason for refusal is same as yours. We were selected for ADR in February this year but on reaching there the Minister's counsel said that the hearing will not take place on that day because the immigration officer who handled my wife's case in Ghana did not interview here and did not state reason why s/he did not interview her for that reason, they will hear from my wife before deciding on the case. She advised me to make sure that i scan the photos in colored and make sure also that i have our chat conversation up to date. It was on that day that the immigration counsel told me that our hearing date will be between August and November due to backlog. Please i would need your assistance by sending me the questions they asked you, as many as you can remember. My email address is masunday63@gmail.com. Thank you and God bless.
My case is similar to this , am from Accra branch , I wasn’t interviewed and I was refused straight up based on same grounds as yours and the reason I wasn’t interviewed wasn’t mentioned. But my wife said the immigration guy From cic handling our case said our hearing is August ,September this year and we got denied in December last year 2017 ,but he told her she will have a small meeting with them on 27th of this month. The question I have is . Have I been selected for ADR or full hearing ? What could this meeting possible be for ?
