Dear all,
I am attending a conference at Lava University in Quebec and I was told I need to apply for the visa. I am Iranian passport holder and work in South Korea.
After contacting the VFS Global center in South Korea and providing the documents, I visited the office and submitted my documents. They mentioned the processing time is around one month but it has been six weeks since I submitted my documents. The visa status mentioned being "Visa application, tracking ID Noxxxx is being processed at the Canada Visa Office, MANILA. To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website. "
Does it mean I will get my visa or not?
The deadline of the conference is coming too soon and I am little confused about what to do.

Regards,

You could try linking your paper application to your online account to get a better idea about your visa processing status. Here's how:

More specifically, do see the 'Background checks' status. There's a possibility that IRCC is doing background checks. This is not a rule, it's done in some cases
