I would say do not be scared. Try to practice online on youtube you will find listening tests.

I am practicing from there only.

All the best!!!

Hi all, I am trying to improve my writing by trying to write everyday.
I have been watching ielts liz's video on youtube and found they are quite useful.
It's going to be my first ielts GT exam

Here is a list of strategies that you can use for each listening question type: http://ieltsfreeway.com/ielts-listening-overview-new-old/ielts-listening-question-types-strategy/ You will be more confident and perform better if you know how you are going to approach each type of question.

Two other important tips are:
1. Be aware of connected speech i.e. when a native English speaker is speaking they often join the sounds of words together, so you may think you have heard one word but actually you have heard three or four. Of course we write words separately such as, 'how are you', but actually we say 'howau'. This can make a big difference to a students comprehension of English.

2. Practice like the exam. In the test you will only hear the recording once, so it is a good idea to get used to this during practice sessions. And also practice listening for long periods of time. The test is over 30 minutes which is a long time to listen to a foreign language if you are not used to it! Good luck!

Me too appearing for the third time my latest scores are L/R/W/S 6/5.5/6.5/6.5, I wonder if I could hit the magic number CLB 9.
