You sponsored your wife for PR? Unfortunately no, they do not offer extensions. She needs to land in Canada before the expiry date or else you will have to start the Sponsorship application all over again.I sponsored my wife and she got her immigrant visa, which will expire in 1week. Her father just got surgery and might undergo chemotherapy. Is there any way to request visa extension? Anything at all to consider her situation?

I'm not sure. I'd like to believe it would be easy since they just assessed you and approved you, but it could go the opposite way and they may scrutinize you more since they may take it as your wife not being serious about moving to Canada. If you choose to reapply I would include a letter in your application regarding the circumstances as to why your wife was not able to land. When did she get approved? What are the chances of getting approved again after re-application?

Okay so not a long time but still 3 months. But I would expect immigration to ask why she left it until the last few weeks/month to come when she could have come in March or April. She got her visa in March, her father was rushed to the hospital 2nd week of May.

I agree. The flight may be expensive but reapply will also cost you.I agree with @Miraclejj, doing a soft landing will be much easier than having to reapply. She does not have to stay in Canada... she can land and return to her home country all in the same day if she wanted to.

I was referring to if OP was to reapply.Doesn't matter. As long as you arrive before the expiry date nobody will care.
