Hi there,

I also aplied Inland and I completed the medical exams in my home country as I was vivisiting my family there. Before doing this I called CIC and they told me it's perfectly fine, so no red flags about this at all !

The only thing here is leaving without having the work permit. However , if this is the first time you are both leaving since he arrived in Canada, it should be ok, as long as he's never overstayed or lost status. Also, if there is a good reason like this AND you are traveling together, the risk is minimum.

You have to see what's more imoimportant in this case.
So I should also call CIC before we leave?

Yes, this will be our first time leaving Canada & he's never overstayed nor lost status.

What are your timelines?

And are you from visa exempt country?

I don't think you need to call them for this, as the info they gave me is in general so it applies to anyone with Inland app.
I'm not from a visa exempt country so I do need a visa to enter Canada. But I had my OWP which allows you to travel without being asked so many questions. Do you have any type of visitor extension document? How did you maintain status in Canada ? Or you're on implied status due to the work permit ?

On the website says that there is always the risk but if you never overstayed and you travel with your sponsor, that it should be ok, especialy if it's the first time you leave and for an important reason.

A couple of tips:

1. in the customs declaration they give you to fill out, don't leave the "lenght of stay" section empty. If you don't have a visitor record extension with a certain date, just write something up to 6 months, which is the maximum allowed per entry. But this is actually just a formality. IF for some reason they know you applied for PR, just tell the truth.

An immigration lawyer told me that you shouldn't say more than what you are asked. But IF they ask more, you should answer what's required, keep it short and calm, and ALWAYS the truth.

2. When you arrive, go together to the same line, the visitors to Canada line, so you talk to the officer together.

Also, take with you all your immigration docs, receipts of payments, marriage license.

Hope it helps :)
