Passport Renewal during Work permit Extension

My Work Permit extension is currently in progress. My Current work permit got expired. So, can I renew my passport during work permit extension? Is there any impact? Please advise.

I am in same boat, could you please tell me what action you took ? did you get validity as per new passport or old passport ?

Any way we can update IRCC about our new passport ?
